Builders, architects & developers

We have a number of charging products as well as software solutions that are ideal for use by builders, architects and developers.

In many regions there is now a planning requirement to provide EV charging in a proportion of parking bays. In addition to this, many builders are choosing incorporating home charge products into garages of new build houses, or in shared underground residents parking.

Browse the scenarios below for some guidance on products and services that may be most relevant to you – or alternatively please call us on 0207 247 4114, we would be very interested to hear about your project.

Providing charge points that are part of a public charge network, by a public-access road or car park on a new housing development.

  • We recommend the installation of twin charge posts. These will enable all EV drivers with a suitable RFID access card to use the posts
  • Depending what region you are in, you may be eligible for a 50% government grant towards charge points & installation – we can advise on this.

Installing charge points for residents who have dedicated assigned parking bays in a shared car park.

  • The solo charge range is the most economical and compact option for individual parking bays
  • PIN code locking can be specified as an option which prevents unauthorised use
  • GPRS communications means that residents can set charge scheduling, lock charge point, and view usage data remotely
  • Energy metering and GPRS communications combined can be used by the building management to assign energy costs, if units use communal building supply.

Creating a number of communal EV charging bays in a private residents car park, for use by all residents on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Either solo charge or twin charge would be suitable; the most economical solution is likely to be an array of solo charge units
  • Access control may be required – in order that energy usage can be logged by user. RFID access cards is the simplest way to do this. POD Point can handle the issuing of cards and all user/resident management if required
  • GPRS communications and an online portal will enable instant reports and itemised billing by resident to be generated
  • Residents can order access cards and view their usage on an online account.
